The Castle Circus - Circus Circus Café 20/11/12

Hurry, Hurry, step right up, a slice of carnival and body art magic is coming to Circus Circus! Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, The New Zealand Body Art Trust and Circus Circus Café are delighted to announce an hour of frivolity. For one afternoon only, The Castle Circus stars Pauly Paul and Foxie Frenchy will entertain, modelling body paints by champion body artists Magdalena O’Connor and Amelia Hitchcock and model Randi Seewald painted by NZ Body Art Director Mem Bourke.

Body art is a flourishing art form in New Zealand. In the wake of a very successful 2012 New Zealand Body Art Awards, and with recent high profile events, such as the Weta Workshop-run Project Born, gaining critical acclaim, the Body Art Trust seeks to continue with the development of this fantastic industry. In 2012 the Trust launched InspireNZ, a competition aimed at under- eighteens, to nurture the next generation of New Zealand Body Artists. On the back of this success, there are rumours of a new body painting and photography competition which runs alongside the national flagship event. However, the Trust is keeping tight lipped on this development at this stage! Watch this space. The Circus Circus event is about exposure (pun intended!): giving the public as many opportunities as possible to interact with body art increases interest and fuels the development of the art form. We seek to create, to inspire, to wow, and most importantly, to have fun.

Date: Tuesday 20th November

Time: 1pm at Circus Circus
