Punter Bets $150 That the World Will End

The countdown until the end of the world on December 21 is on and at least one punter is convinced we are all goners, betting $150 at $501 with online bookmaker sportsbet that the world will end.

However it doesn’t look like it is time to panic just yet, with no the world won’t end firming from $1.01 to the even shorter odds of $1.001.

“There has been a few small bets either way, but this $150 is easily the biggest. Maybe they are Mayan and have a bit of inside information?” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.

“If the world is ending it may be difficult for us to pay out, but if there is one person left at sportsbet.com.au we will be doing our best to make sure they get paid!”

Punters are also betting on how the world will end and despite being the outsider at $1001, being eaten alive by zombies has received the most bets.

The spread of a new incurable killer virus remains the favourite at $21, while a global super storm ($34) and a world earthquake ($41) have also received support.
