Mustard joins Aces for Plunket Shield
The Aces second overseas import Phil Mustard will get some cricket under his belt after being announced in the team to play Canterbury in the Plunket Shield.
Mustard is here for the HRV Cup which resumes for the Aces on Friday night at Eden Park but will get some welcome match practice in during the four day clash starting this Sunday.
Mustard is one of three changes with the other two being the naming of youngsters Robbie O'Donnell and Matt Quinn. Both have been stand-out age group players and were part of the New Zealand U19 team that competed in the World Cup recently.
Coach Paul Strang says that both have got there completely on merit.
"Robbie and Matt have been in excellent form in club cricket and have shown great attitude in training with us as well. They're both talented young cricketers."
Strang is keen to see his side make the most of the last match in the Plunket Shield before the HRV Cup takes over for a month.
"We played some good cricket against Otago in the last round but came up short so we need to bounce back and go one better this time around."

Colin de Grandhomme
