Western Art in a Pacific Context
Western Art in a Pacific Context
The guest this week In Conversation with Noel Cheer on Triangle Television is the New Zealand-born artist Mark Cross. Mark lives part of the year on the circular coral island of Niue which sits just 19 degrees south of the equator, 2400km north east of New Zealand.
Mark is considered one of the South Pacific's leading contemporary realist painters and his works are sought after by collectors from the Pacific rim and from further afield. In a sometimes eerie mix of landscapes and people, his works are well known for imparting a social message that speaks of mankind's delinquent abuse of his home on planet Earth. His website is at www.markcross.nu
