‘Home Crowd Can See Us Through’ Believes Haier Pulse Coach

Haier Pulse Head Coach Robyn Broughton is calling on a passionate home crowd to make the difference when her side takes on the NSW Swifts at Wellington’s TSB Arena on Monday at 7.40pm.

“We had a wonderful sell-out crowd at Te Rauparaha Arena in Porirua last week for the Firebirds game and are looking forward to another big turn-out in Wellington on Monday”, she explained.

“Last time we played at the TSB Arena we were overwhelmed with the incredible support, which I am sure helped us beat the Adelaide Thunderbirds. We can hear the support and it really motivates us. Knowing how much it means to our fans can be the difference between winning and losing.”

“This is our third Australian team in a row and we are getting used to playing them. It’s been a challenging start to the campaign, but we are looking forward to a good, hard, strong game against the Swifts.

“English defender Sonia Mkoloma played for the Central Pulse in the inaugural year of the ANZ Championship. With 111 test caps under her belt she’ll be pitching her experience against Donna and Caitlin in the circle, which should be well worth watching.

“I’m delighted with the team development so far. The combinations are starting to work well and we now need to finish things off with a win. We had a close loss last week and we know we need to maintain momentum in third quarter if we are to be successful.”
