Top kiwi band Goodshirt will entertain at this years Bluff Oyster & Food Festival in Bluff on Saturday 25 May.

Well known for hits such as Sophie, Buck It Up and Fiji Baby among others, the band will perform on stage at the iconic event.

Goodshirt consists of Gareth Thomas, brothers Murray and Rodney Fisher plus drummer Mike Beehre and came to prominence in 2000. Their debut album, Good, followed soon after in August 2001. One of the tracks from the album, Sophie, reached number one on the New Zealand singles chart. The 'Sophie' video depicting a young woman listening to music through headphones oblivious to the fact that burglars are emptying her flat all around her won Best Music Video at the 2003 New Zealand Music Awards.

The band went their separate ways in 2005 only to re-emerge in 2012 after Rodney returned from London where he had played with Breaks Co-op. Since getting together again the band have played support gigs for Hall & Oates and Icehouse as part of A Day On The Green Festival while they also been working on new material.

The band are looking forward to their first Oyster Fesitval experience. "I've heard great things about the this Festival! What could be better than a feed of Bluff Oysters on a band rider," says Rodney.
