Second chance for NZ Comedy Gala tickets at Queenstown’s Winter Festival
Queenstown, New Zealand – Take a sold-out Comedy Gala, a stellar line-up of Kiwi comedians, mix in some razor sharp wit, add a dash of sarcasm…and what do you get?

More hi-jinx and hilarity with a second show added to the American Express Queenstown Winter Festival programme featuring the cream of New Zealand’s comedians!
Tickets will go on sale tomorrow (9 May) at 9am for the new event which will be held at the Queenstown Memorial Centre on Monday 24 June, the night before the original sell-out gig.
With a pool of comedic talent like Dai Henwood, Jeremy Corbett, Paul Ego, Urzila Carlson, Ewen Gilmour, and Brendhan Lovegrove as the MC, it came as no surprise to Festival Manager Lisa Buckingham that the first event sold out in 24 hours.
“The Comedy Gala is always a great laugh and we predicted that it would be a sell-out event but we’ve been overwhelmed by the sheer number of disappointed people who have got in touch with us after missing out on tickets. We’ve heard from people by phone, email and through Facebook – I have even been stopped on the street! It was clear that there were a lot more locals and visitors who wanted to come so I’m thrilled that we’ve been able to deliver a second show.”
Lisa confirms that prices, seating, timing and the all-important line up are exactly the same to ensure fairness to the lucky lot who already have tickets for the Tuesday night gig and she encourages those keen to secure tickets to the second show to get in quickly.
And it isn’t just tickets to the NZ Comedy Gala that are getting snapped up. The SKYCITY Casino Royale Ball is a clear favourite, and tables for the Mountain Scene Thriller in the Chiller are completely sold out with only a small number grandstand seats for those who are quick this week.
Tickets for Monday night’s NZ Comedy Gala are on sale from Thursday 9 May at 9am, via www.winterfestival.co.nz or through calling 0800 FESTIVAL. Tickets are $69 and the show is R18.
The Monday and Tuesday NZ Comedy Gala events are part of the 10-day American Express Queenstown Winter Festival, taking place from 21 to 30 June.
