NEW work PAARUA (‘Double Contact’) is an adrenalin-saturated and humorous dance choreographed by Nancy Wijohn that explores competitive strategies and sporting tactics. Kelly Nash’s quirky and incisive new work INDIGENARCHY and RAKAU, choreographed by Gaby Thomas fuses contemporary dance with traditional Maori song and stick game.Completing the programme is the very popular Atamira take on “Poi E Thriller”; as made famous by the Taika Waititi hit Boy – choreographed by long-standing Atamira member Dolina Wehipeihana this mash-up of kapa haka and Michael Jackson moves is a catchy toe-tapper!
