Mark Watson's 3D paintings exhibition!
G'day Art Lovers,
Well Long time no Newsletter ? Hope the summer treated you well !
Here of course we had the Conspiracy Exhibition (winners etc on the web-site), when the world quite fortunately didn't end, but almost immediately following this, my computer did start a gradual, agonising melt down (not my first computer to do this). To cut a long story short, this msg is now coming from a brand new lap-top, after months of hassle, hair pulling, screaming, and salvaging of files from the old 'puter. I tell you there are times I miss "the good old ways", like writing and sending a quill ink pen letter, on parchment paper, sent in an envelope, by carrier pigeon (remember them?), and mixing chemicals in the dark room, to see real photographs magically reveal themselves in the dish under the red-light glow, instead of staring boz-eyed at a screen in photo-shop for hours on end, and, instead of "hanging out" on farcebook or twotting on tweeter, actually talking in person, or on the good old dial-up party line telephone, from a pay phone, where you paid by inserting 5 cent coins, not credit card (or better still talked to the operator and reversed the charges!)..... Eeeee, them were t'days!
Ok, enough dreaming and reminiscing, and back to The Now.
And a FANTASTIC exhibition, official opening, THIS Sunday at 2pm.
Mark Watson's 3D paintings exhibition!
These works are truly stunning to the eye, and that's before you even don the special 3D spectacles for the ultimate viewing experience !! To get an idea of what I'm on about please open up the attached pic of Mark in front of 6 of his big 9 piece work "O Aotearoa". This stuff is truly Oresome (with an O or an A!). There are several other marvellous pieces in the exhibition to view as well. And you won't need any legal highs, laughing gas, or gut burning home brewed spirits to get your mind and eyes spinning in all depths and directions looking at these works! And you can do just that, AND enjoy complimentary drinks & tasty snacks, PLUS meet Mark, this coming Sunday from 2pm onwards !!
So there you have it. Paintings and
intriguing images that seem to jump out at you! 3D
glasses provided!! {Exhibition runs to the end of
June}
Be there!
Cheers, Richard.
