Sealord fuels Anna’s Ironman aspirations
Professional Ironman star Anna Ross loves
seafood so a partnership with Sealord is a nutrition and
high performance match made in heaven.
“I’ve always enjoyed seafood and as a lean protein, nothing beats fish – especially tuna and salmon which are also great sources of omega 3,” says Anna.
Currently ranked top 30 in the World, Anna will compete against the best of the best at the Ironman World Championship in Kona this October.
Anna started in the sport of triathlon 6 years ago and up until this year has been working her way up the Amateur ranks. In 2010 she placed 3rd at the Long Distance World Championships in Germany and then 2nd in 2011 at the same event.
Last year she competed in her first Ironman at the World Championship event in Kona, Hawaii, obtaining a 4th place in the amateur field. This year Anna decided to race professionally in Ironman and Half-Ironman (70.3) events.
Her debut performance was in January at the Asia-Pacific 70.3 Championships in Auckland, she placed 5th in a world-class field and was the first Kiwi woman home. From there she has had a string of consistent results: 4th at Ironman New Zealand, 11th at the Asia-Pacific Ironman Championships, 3rd at Busselton 70.3 and most recently 4th at Cairns Ironman. For Sealord, the partnership is an opportunity to support an athlete who is going places. “Our canned tuna and salmon provide healthy, tasty options for lunches and are versatile enough for healthy dinners – we hope Anna will enjoy and benefit from the partnership,” said Brand Manager Craig Harrison.
