Hollywoodfun Downstairs – Fuzzy

The second single from the forthcoming album, “The Mancunian Swing”, to be released August 23rd 2013.

Wellington rock band Hollywoodfun Downstairs have today announced the release date of their upcoming full-length debut, The Mancunian Swing, alongside the release of their second single and a number of tour dates to celebrate the release of their album .

“Fuzzy”, the sophomore effort from their debut album, starts of as a pure slice of pop-rock (with bite) bliss – a guaranteed track to have their dedicated fan following bouncing in the crowd. Its twisted, angular bridge however draws once again references to the post-punk movement.

Effectively – it is “spazzy” – a terminology frequently used to sum up the works of Kurt, Grant and Tim.

The Mancunian Swing is set to have an overarching concept throughout its track-list regarding the life and times of singer Kurt Williams during his stay in London; from the decadence of Camden and Hoxton through to the nihilistic, scummy parts of Kings Cross on an early Saturday morning. Akin to the debut Arctic Monkeys album, The Mancunian Swing captures a day in the life of a “lad” during the heyday of the lager-lout and ladette.
