Scratch ‘N’ Win for Kiwi Kids at the Warehouse

30 July 2013

Scratch ‘N’ Win for Kiwi Kids at the Warehouse

The Warehouse customers can now try their luck with a Scratch ‘n’ Win card and help bridge the digital divide for young people.

Throughout August SCRATCH ‘N’ WIN cards are available at The Warehouse stores nationwide for $2. All money raised will go towards giving a deserving Kiwi kid a laptop. Research has shown that access to personal IT devices, used in conjunction with the school curriculum, have the ability to improve literacy rates.

Spend $2 on a SCRATCH ‘N’ WIN card and you could instantly win a Ford Fiesta LX valued at $23,990, a SKYCITY Auckland Hotel Package, Avanti bikes, Alcatel mobile phones, $100 Westfield gift cards, Family Food with Variety cookbooks, Custom Cordless Telephones, a family pack of Red Band Gumboots and Cadbury Crunchie bars!

Variety’s Laptops for Learning programme, along with partner The Warehouse, provides laptops to low decile Secondary Schools in New Zealand. The aim is to enable young people with the ability to use a digital device as part of their in-class learning, and to take it home when required.

Variety- The Children’s Charity CEO Lorraine Taylor says “At Variety we believe education can be the catalyst to providing a better life for our Kiwi kids. For many of the children we meet, they do not have access to portable IT technology and knowledge of how to use this technology is now vital when they enter the workforce.”

“SCRATCH ‘N’ WIN is a great way to help Kiwi kids, so we encourage everyone to visit The Warehouse stores nationwide and support this campaign,” says Lorraine. “We have some great prizes up for grabs this year, and for $2 you could win one of the prizes from our over $50,000 prize pool! Not only are you in to win, but your $2 will go towards bridging the digital divide for Kiwi kids.”
