Unitec presents Cloudstreet

Unitec presents Cloudstreet - opens 'Friday the 13th' at the Unitec Theatre

Unitec Performing & Screen Arts' presents Tim Winton's Cloudstreet directed by John Davies with the full ensemble of 20 second year actors.

God's Grace or Lady Luck? God's Grace may bring miracles, and Lady Luck the Shifty Shadow of Fate. Where is salvation?

Two families, the Lambs, industrious and self reliant, and the Pickles, indulgent and self destructive, are thrown together into a broken old house where ghosts play middle C and the walls harbour terrible secrets. There is a boy, who saved from drowning longs only to return to the water. There is a girl robbed of her childhood, yet longs for a child of her own.

This is Cloudstreet, the rollicking saga of Australian life and times in Perth 1943 to 1963. Adapted by Nick Enright and Justin Monjo from the novel by Tim Winton, this production brings to life the hilarity and abrasiveness of harsh times and sought for redemption.
