Sir Mark Todd confirmed as Patron of Equidays

Organisers of Equidays at Mystery Creek Event Centre are delighted to announce that New Zealand’s eventing legend, Sir Mark Todd, is to be the Patron of Equidays.

Noted New Zealand horseman Sir Mark Todd KNZM CBE, has won many medals and titles during his continuing equine career, was voted Rider of the 20th Century by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) and in 2013 was knighted for his services to equestrian sport.

Commenting on his patronage, Sir Mark said, “I am delighted to be a Patron of Equidays, ‘Your world class equine event’. Located close to my hometown of Cambridge and within a region well known for its equine focus, Mystery Creek Events Centre is the ideal venue for this all-encompassing equine event.

“It’s great to see such an impressive line-up of equine professionals appearing at Equidays this year. The clinics, demonstrations and seminars are truly focused on the education of horse and rider which is so valuable for all of the up and coming riders looking to learn the skills necessary to take them to that next level. The fast paced action of the Hyundai Derby will attract some great riders and I’m delighted that the Waikato can offer such a fantastic event to visitors.

“I have no doubt that Equidays will be a magnificent event this year and encourage anyone who has a passion about this industry to attend; it will be great to watch!”

Equidays spokesperson Sarah Riches said, “We are thrilled to welcome Sir Mark as the patron of Equidays. Sir Mark has always been a great friend of the event so for him to cement his support by becoming Patron is a greatly appreciated. We hope that through his support we can encourage more interest in New Zealand’s equine sector that is showcased at Equidays, “Your World Class Equine Event’”.

A key focus for Equidays is the education of horse and rider. In 2013 the event formed an on-going partnership with Equestrian Sports New Zealand (ESNZ) which will ensure that Equidays provides the fundamental education required to help build and sustain horse sports riders within NZ.

‘Your world class equine event’
Equidays is a national equine event, held at Mystery Creek Events Centre, Hamilton.

While only in its third year, Equidays is already acknowledged as a world-class equine event.

Equidays is developed by not for profit, National Fieldays Society, owners of Mystery Creek Events Centre.

Mystery Creek is the ideal venue for Equidays. Large events are a specialty at the events venue, with 113 hectares of land to utilise. Mystery Creek Events Centre is located in the Waikato, a region well known for its equine focus.

Bringing industry, education and competition to New Zealand, Equidays is a unique event with a wide range of equine related demonstrations, exhibitions, activities and retail sites making it the ultimate destination for horse lovers!
