Kershaw's 1984 debut album Human Racing placed him firmly on the international pop map, thanks to three Top 20 singles, including Wouldn't It Be Good. The following year he played Live Aid at Wembley to a worldwide audience of millions, and his chart-topping album The Riddle was a huge smash across the globe, including 33 weeks in NZ Top 40.
But it’s not all a nostalgia-fest of sweet RTR, Shazam, and Smash HIts memories. Kershaw will also bring to the party some great songs from his acclaimed recent releases, including 2012’s Ei8ht.
Nik Kershaw returned to the studio and the stage after several years out of the limelight, producing, songwriting and performing alongside artists as diverse as Imogen Heap, Elton John, and Steve Hackett (Genesis). He also wrote the UK number 1 “The One And Only” for Chesney Hawkes.
Elton John has called him “one of the best songwriters of a generation”, and with a hit-packed set list night after night, few can argue.
