Balance Independence with Safety these Holidays

Balance Independence with Safety these Holidays

Leading up to the school holidays is the best time to discuss with your family their safety strategies. This will help prevent problems and increase their confidence as they become more independent.

- Make it your business to know that your children are safe.

- Make it your business to communicate effectively with your children’s friends and their parents.

- Make it your business to know where your children are and with whom.

Kidpower Safety Tips

- Plan together a calendar of possible events for the holidays. Keep communicating and updating events.

- How do children get help if you’re not there? How will they respond to a knock on the door and phone calls?

- Do they have sufficient credit and important phone numbers loaded on their phone?

Do they have your number loaded under ICE (incase of emergence) in their address book?

- Check you are on the same page as your children regarding rules around travel; social media; visitors and visiting?

- Check in with each other at the end of the day. What has happened today and what is on for tomorrow.

We offer workshops that build confidence and empower participants of all ages. They learn to act wisely, set boundaries, solve conflict and prevent trouble. Look for our Public courses advertised on our website.
