Stan Walker Joins VNZMAS As Co-host

Chart-topping artist and five-time Tui winner Stan Walker is the new co-host of the biggest night in New Zealand Music – the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.

Stan joins four-time host Shannon Ryan on stage at this year’s event late in November as the nation celebrates and honours the 2013 Tui recipients.

As one of New Zealand’s most popular artists, Stan has sold more than 200,000 singles and close to 100,000 albums to date.

He has also gained triple platinum sales of his debut album ‘Introducing’ and platinum sales of his follow up album ‘From The Inside Out’. He has had a string of platinum and multi-platinum singles including ‘Black Box’, ‘Take It Easy’, ‘Bulletproof’, ‘Loud’ & ‘Choose You’

Damian Vaughan, chief executive officer of Recorded Music NZ, says Stan is the perfect addition to the VNZMA hosting team.

“Having nabbed five Tuis himself and a live performance slot at the 2010 show, Stan is no stranger to the Music Awards. He’s definitely the right man for the job.”

Stan Walker and Shannon Ryan will also host the Hallenstein Brothers’ Critic’s Choice Prize Showcase event, held at The Kings Arms in Auckland on November 6.

The 48th annual Recorded Music NZ Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards ceremony is at Auckland’s Vector Arena on Thursday 21 November. The show is being broadcast on the night on FOUR. www.nzmusicawards.co.nz
