Media Release – October 2013
Real Pasifik – NZ On Air Funding Confirmed for Second Series

Zoomslide, the producers of new television series Real Pasifik are over the moon to receive confirmation from NZ On Air that a second series of their newest television show has received funding.

Food show Real Pasifik has currently been screening on TV One at 4pm Saturdays, with the final episode going to air Saturday 19th October. The first series of Real Pasifik has been incredibly well received and has been lauded by various journalists and commentators within the media as being so much more than just another food show.

The inspirational show has provided its viewers with a rarely seen glimpse into the world of traditional Pacific cuisine and culture.

Real Pasifik’s presenter, acclaimed New Zealand chef, Robert Oliver has managed to convey both his captivating and mischievous personality as well as the professionalism and ease with which he moves around a kitchen. It’s not often that a chef who has achieved such high levels of professional success within the culinary world is able to make such a seamless transition when stepping in front of a camera, but by all accounts Oliver appears to be a natural.

During the filming of the first series of Real Pasifik, the Zoomslide team was enchanted by the array of fascinating stories that they continued to stumble across within each of the Pacific nations they visited. Says Series Director, Anna Marbrook; "The stories are so rich and there's such inspiring leadership in the Pacific. We feel that Real Pasifik is at the beginning of its journey so it’s fantastic there is another series in the pipeline. Our international distributor in London says there is a real demand for these kinds of stories and that global audiences are enthralled with the rich food culture of the Pacific. In the next series we’ll visit some new countries and may return to some from Series One to explore the culture and cuisine further".

If you’ve not managed to watch the first series of Real Pasifik yet, all the episodes from series one are available to view via TVNZ Ondemand.
