"BEHIND THE VINES- TEN YEARS OF R&V"

Discover the history of New Zealand's biggest New Year's Music Festival, Rhythm and Vines through intimate fifteen minute documentary "Behind the Vines - Ten Years of R&V".


Under the direction of Festival Founder Hamish Pinkham, Videographers Ben Carter and Dan Maas retell the heartwarming journey of Rhythm and Vines - initially the dream of a group of students at Otago University, now a 30,000 person strong, internationally renowned music festival. This year’s festival showcases over 70 international and local acts across five stages and three days.

The documentary not only showcases a plentiful archive of footage collected throughout the years, but reveals insights and experiences of the festival's colourful personalities - some of whom have been involved since it's inception - and highlights the positive impact the festival has had on the local Gisborne community.

Premiered on Thursday to friends of the festival, the documentary can is now available to watch on the Rhythm and Vines blog, alongside an opportunity to catch up with NZ Herald's Live Chat between Hamish Pinkham and festival fans.
