Local Author Shows How Not to Get Published

Dunedin (Tuesday, 29 October 2013) - Local author Elizabeth Pulford will be sharing dos and don’ts about the world of publishing at a Waikouaiti Library event next month.

Elizabeth will offer an entertaining look at the pitfalls of publishing online at a talk on Thursday 7 November from 7.30pm.

Canadian by birth, but raised and educated in Dunedin, Elizabeth now lives in Waikouaiti. She began writing at the age of 40, when she decided it was high time to get on with her ‘real’ passion. She is an award-winning author who has achieved success in some of New Zealand's most prestigious fiction competitions, as well as winning the Dunedin Public Libraries’ Centennial Romance Writing Competition for her story titled “A Matter of Contacts”. Her articles, stories and poems for both adults and children have been published in newspapers, magazines and journals, and have been broadcast on National Radio.

Having taken the bold step of entering the exciting world of e-publishing, and with a string of successful e-books behind her, Elizabeth has considerable wisdom to share with aspiring writers.

The event is part of a programme of events celebrating the Waikouaiti Library’s 150th anniversary.
