Ekko Park’s debut album releases today
PRESS RELEASE – Embargoed until November 1, 2013
TOMORROW TOMORROW TODAY Ekko Park’s debut album
releases today, Friday November 1, 2013.
This much anticipated album follows on from the successful releases of singles Simpatico and Becoming The Enemy, which charted #1 and #2 respectively on the NZ iTunes Rock Chart, and more recently the September release of My Crime which went straight to #1 on the NZ iTunes Rock Chart and has been tipped as the strongest track from the band so far.
Engineered and co-produced by Andrew Buckton (Crowded House, Midnight Youth, The D4, Clap Clap Riot) TOMORROW TOMORROW TODAY captures Ekko Park in its purity – melodic and sonic thrown together with powered energy.
Recorded between Studio 203 and York Street Studios, singer Joe Walsh says "After recording our singles in these studios, we wanted to capture the same sound and the same feel on our album. We knew we had the songs, we knew the time was right to record them and I think we have captured that freshness and energy that the new songs have. Actually, two of the songs were still being finished as the first songs were being tracked! There are a couple of older songs on there, but they have never been recorded before, so over time they have changed direction and become something different. To me, an album is a statement. The songs have to stand up, not just individually but collectively. TOMORROW TOMORROW TODAY does that. As the title suggests, we were always striving to make this album and now is the right time for us. This is our statement."
Ekko Park is an Auckland 4 piece rock band with great pedigree – consisting of Joe Walsh (Lead Vocals / Guitar), Joel Halstead (Lead Guitar / Vocals), Nick Douch (Drums) and Callum Tong (Bass). A collaboration of diverse backgrounds forming a unique and explosive offering in the NZ music landscape.
TOMORROW TOMORROW TODAY is now available from all good record stores and on iTunes.
