Eco fashion event announces call for interest

New Zealand Eco Fashion Exposed, NZ’s eco fashion week, is to be held in Lower Hutt from 23-27 July 2014 and organisers are calling for interest from designers.

The inaugural runway show took place in 2013, and international interest has sparked an expansion to a full four-day schedule of events including runway shows, workshops, pop-up shops, and an Eco Expo.

Exposed has been created to fill a gap in the New Zealand market for an event solely focussed on eco fashion showcasing sustainable designer brands and up and coming eco designers.

The event is the brainchild of Director, Denise Anglesey, and has been developed to spotlight ethical, sustainable, ecologically friendly, yet fully fashionable, stylish, cutting edge fashion from both New Zealand and overseas.

Ms. Anglesey says “we’re excited to be offering such a comprehensive schedule for the event, and interest has already been great.

“We’ve had interest from all over the world from designers wanting to take part in the event, and we’re finally able to say that registrations are open!”

Input from supporters and sponsors such as the Hutt City Council has enabled the event to upscale in 2014, with further room for development in 2015 and future years.

The event offers opportunity not just for established designers, but also has categories for new and student designers, along with opportunity for eco-related businesses and organisations to be involved.

Registrations of interest close on Friday 6 June and can be made online at www.nzecofashionexposed.co.nz.

ENDS.
