Gender equality information increase
The National Council of Women of New Zealand is starting a monthly e-newsletter and has added sections to its website to meet the growing demand for information and support around gender equality.
Three new website sections, services & support, resources, and news, offer an online gender equality hub. These sections are aimed at people interested in gender equality, those seeking support for an issue, and people wanting to take action to increase gender equality.
Chief Executive Sue McCabe said at the end of each month the council would also distribute an e-newsletter, called On Balance, that contains a roundup of significant gender equality news.
“We are witnessing an increase in demand for gender equality information, both globally and in New Zealand.
“The not for profit sector, corporate and the Government all produce valuable information and data important to the ongoing discussion around how to improve women’s equality in areas like domestic violence, the gender pay gap, and their underrepresentation in leadership. We are keen to promote and share useful data, information and to promote relevant services.
“The National Council of Women is New Zealand’s main not-for-profit umbrella women’s organisation. We have 288 organisations that are members at either the national or branch level, as well as individuals that have registered with us. Given the strength and diversity of our membership, we’re well placed to connect people interested in this topic.”
Ms McCabe invited people with relevant content for the website and newsletter to get in contact.
