Ferguson joins Mondiale Aces for Volts return clash

Media Release
Friday, 7 November 2014

The Mondiale Auckland Aces have included speedster Lockie Ferguson in the 13 named for their second Georgie Pie Super Smash game in Hamilton tomorrow night.

Ferguson is the only change to the side that got home by 2 runs against the same opposition last Saturday.

His inclusion means the Mondiale Aces have some extra firepower in their arsenal at the bowling crease as they try to add another victory to their Twenty20 campaign.

Mondiale Aces coach Mark O’Donnell is looking forward to locking horns with the Volts once again.

“Last week was a great game of Twenty20 cricket. It was a bit closer than we would have liked to be honest but it was really pleasing to see that we held our nerve when the pressure was on to secure the win.”

O’Donnell says that the tightness of that victory means that his side are fully aware they will need to be right on their game to record another win.

“It’s about as close as you can get and it reminds everyone that a game of Twenty20 often hangs on some very small margins that can push it either way. We know that the Volts have got some talented players and it will take a top performance to put them away.”

A team for the game that starts at 7pm tomorrow night, 8 November, at Seddon Park, will be named from the following 13 players:

Rob Nicol (Captain)
Michael Bates
Brad Cachopa
Carl Cachopa
Colin de Grandhomme
Lockie Ferguson
Donovan Grobbelaar
Martin Guptill
Anaru Kitchen
Mitchell McClenaghan
Kyle Mills
Colin Munro
Tarun Nethula
