The Datsuns announce support acts for NZ December shows in support of new album Deep Sleep
New Zealand’s fuzz, loud guitar, rock ‘n’ roll kings The Datsuns have handpicked support acts for their New Zealand December shows.
Joining them in Auckland, Wellington and Napier is loud, fast and young rockers The Cavemen who promise to deliver high energy, psychotic, teen delinquent rock'n'roll imbibing from the altar of Little Richard and the Stooges. And sharing the stage in Christurch will be local hard rock four piece Pieces Of Molly who will deliver a killer riff heavy show where thunderous bass lines prowl menacingly underneath crunchy twin guitar grooves.

Seizing the opportunity of being in the same city, The Datsuns wrote and recorded Deep Sleep - the groups 6th studio album - in a blistering fast ten days at Roundhead Studios in Auckland last summer. The result is a sonic explosion that arrives, lights the place on fire, then leaves, all within the space of 34 minutes.
Deep Sleep which was released in October this year elaborates on the bands signature breakneck-paced rock’n’roll delving into more menacing terrain summoned from the bands collective proto-metal 70s influences; Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Blue Oyster Cult and Bloodrock, to name a few. Semi-tones are thrown in amongst blues scale riffs creating a darker, more evil sound that summons images of 1970s cult film super-villains.
