Streets Ice Cream to sponsor NZ’s largest family day out
The Streets Easter Show, which will be held at the ASB Showgrounds on April 2-6, 2015, will again be a fun-filled event that is free to attend.
From its humble beginnings 172 years ago, the show last year attracted a crowd of 130,000 people.
“The show was initially a purely agricultural event, designed to help what was then a fledgling colony develop a sound farming economy,” says ASB Showgrounds CEO, Mark Frankham.
Today, the show continues to bring town and country together. Kids from the city are able to interact closely with a wide variety of prize farm animals while the whole family enjoys a huge range of exciting attractions and fun activities.
This year’s attractions will include the very popular River Rats log-rollers, Zirka’s brand new circus, the action-packed FMX riders, the Rosie the Cow Show, Alice in Wonderland, the country’s largest Art Competition and a large number of free attractions.
Those coming to the show will also be able to experience an exciting new Zombie Alley, enjoy the many rides and sideshows and try out the new ice skating rink.
In many ways, the new Streets sponsorship is a perfect partnership explains Mark Frankham.
“We are very proud to announce Unilever/ Streets as our naming rights sponsor; we have worked closely with Streets over the past five years and now look forward to consolidating the relationship.
“With free entry and the community turning out in such large numbers last year, the Easter Show has reached a new level. Thanks to this new partnership, we believe the Streets Easter Show will continue to grow even more in the coming years.”
It is a sentiment echoed by Thomas Press, Country Director of Unilever New Zealand.
