AOTNZ 2015 programme opens with Into the East
For immediate release
AOTNZ 2015 programme opens with award winning duo, Into the East
Into the East’s Liv McBride and Graeme Woller were crowned 2014 National Country Music Duo of the Year and nominated for the 2014 Taite Music Prize as well as 2014 Best NZ Folk Album (for Fight from the Inside). Featuring gently finger picked guitar one minute, bouncing percussion the next, traversing between Country and Folk while detouring through Alternative and Soul, these spirited soulful Invercargill based musicians are now taking on Australasia.
“Think Fairport Convention taking Neil Young’s music apart and building something new with the bones of Sheryl Crow.” Ania Glowacz, NZ Musician
“McBride is the voice that races ahead excited, Woller is the anchor; he pulls back just a tad – together they find the perfect place to pitch and rest each song.” Simon Sweetman, Dominion Post

About Arts On Tour New
Zealand
Arts On Tour New Zealand (AOTNZ)
organises tours of outstanding New Zealand performers to
rural and smaller centres in New Zealand. The trust receives
funding from Creative New Zealand and liaises with local
arts councils, repertory theatres and community groups to
bring the best of musical and other talent to country
districts. The AOTNZ programme is environmentally
sustainable – artists travel in the distinctive AOTNZ bus
to entertain their audiences, relieving rural dwellers the
chore of clocking up kilometres to travel to the big towns
for their culture. AOTNZ also thanks Interislander for
support.
