Laneway Pre-Party With Iceage
LANEWAY FESTIVAL PRESENTS PRE-PARTY ON SUNDAY 25th JANUARY, WITH ICEAGE
Laneway 2015 is
set to be bigger and bolder than ever before, and the party
starts the night before the festival at Auckland’s
Kings Arms on Sunday 25
January, with an inevitably crushing performance
from much-buzzed Danish goth-punk-hardcore
rockersIceage.
Laneway 2015 brings the formidable swagger of these dashing young Danes into Kiwi arms for the first time. Barely beyond their teens, Iceage sharpened the teeth of their menacing sound on the Copenhagen hardcore scene. Emerging with the heavily anxious debut New Brigade, the band took an unexpected left-turn with the emotional sophomore record You’re Nothing. Now, with 2014’s rollocking and romantic Plowing in the Field of Love, Iceage have confounded expectations once again. Recorded in a dewy forest over a few weeks and more than a few drinks, the songs elegantly disintegrate into a collection of unruly love songs rich with both promise and regret.
Tickets to see this much-touted band are an outrageously modest $35. And, because Laneway loves music-lovers, we’re offering the super-special price of $15 on the door for Laneway ticket holders. That’s about the price of a cheap bottle of plonk, and seeing this band perform songs from their beautifully crafted sonic realm will leave you with a hangover you’ll never forget. In the words of Consequence of Sound, ‘it will carve a hole somewhere deep inside you’.
The Iceage stage will be warmed by Auckland’s most youthful and abrasive, Trust Punks, and sere. But it’s first in, first served, with absolutely no pre-sales -- so rush to the watering hole, and get ready to dive in deep with Laneway 2015.
