Auckland Pride Parade is Coming This Saturday at New Time

Auckland Pride Parade is Coming This Saturday at New Time!!

The third Auckland Pride Parade will be heading down Ponsonby Road Saturday 21st February, at the new time of 7:30PM. This FREE event with more floats than ever before is New Zealand’s the biggest celebration of the LGBTIQ community.

The theme for the Auckland Pride Parade 2015 is gorgeous gods and fiery monsters. Richard Taki, Pride Parade director says, “Working with these groups and seeing them be inspired by our theme of Gods & Monsters has been incredible. The level of detail and research in the float creations is provoking and inspired. We have traditional pacific gods being represented as well as gods of our own, being newly created. The monsters will be there en force also!”

The Auckland Pride Parade travels the length of Ponsonby Road from K Road to Three Lamps. Come visit Ponsonby's hippest strip prior to the parade to shop, eat, drink and watch the parade.

Featuring over 80 events Auckland wide, the Auckland Pride Festival 2015 runs fromFriday 6 February – Sunday 1 March 2015. Highlights still to come include; Rainbow Youth Pride Art Exhibition held at Studio One, Ponsonby Road (11-18 Feb), Away From Home at the Herald Theatre (17-21 Feb), Queering Ecologies at the Allpress Gallery in Drake St (17-23 Feb), Freak Show at Mangere Arts Centre (19-20 Feb), the intimate cabaret show Night Of The Queer at TAPAC (18-22 Feb), and the official closing party of the festival PROUD at Victoria Park Market (28 Feb).
