Cricket World Cup Fanzone continues with live match coverage, classic movies and live music

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 New Zealand Fanzone at Victoria Square continues this week with a spectacular classic movie and live music line-up.
Christchurch City Council Events Development Manager Richard Attwood says the Fanzone is the place to be this week as the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 festivities continues in Christchurch.

“This week we are screening movies like Top Gun, The Blues Brothers and the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Along with the movies we have fantastic musical line-ups on Saturday 21 February and Monday 23 February, featuring the Dr Sanchez Trio, DJ Soul Provider, Nyree Burt and Justice Brass Band – and it’s all free of charge.

“We will also have live coverage of all the cricket world cup matches based in New Zealand on the big screen at the Fanzone in Victoria Square, including the New Zealand versus England game this Friday 20 February being played in Wellington,” says Mr Attwood.

Highlights of this weeks Fanzone line up:
Monday 16 February–7.30pm: Movie – The Sound of Music
Tuesday 17 February–7.30pm: Movie – The Princess Bride
Wednesday 18 February–6pm: Movie – The Blues Brothers
Thursday 19 February–7pm/9pm: Movie double bill – Top Gun/The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Friday 20 February–from 11am: Live cricket coverage – New Zealand versus England
Saturday 21 February–from 7.15pm: Music – DJ Sanchez Trio, DJ Soul Provider, DJ Nacoa
Sunday 22 February–8pm: Movie – The Shining
Monday 23 February–from 6.50pm: Music – Nyree Burt, Justice Brass Band, DJ Katalyst
