Final Festival Weekend
Final Festival Weekend
This Saturday is the final weekend for the public season for the Capital E National Arts Festival 2015. We’ve had amazing sell-out weekends for the past two weeks, and we’re stoked to have so many people excited to see the shows. Recently we ran a competition with What Now and Positively Wellington Tourism where a lucky family from around the country wins a family weekend away to come to the Festival. They will stay in the The Village Accommodation Group’s wonderful suites and will experience a few shows part of the Festival!
The line-up for this weekend is award winning Trick of the Light Theatre in the presentation of Beards! Beards! Beards! in two performances at Circa Theatre at 10am & 1pm. This is the story of Beatrix and her aims to grow the most magnificent and impressive beard that will go in the history books. Circa Contemporary Circus’ Carnival of the Animals will feature kangaroo’s hopping and flipping and elephants hip hop dancing at The Opera House at 11.30am. Squaring the Wheel will feature Australian performer Jens Altheimer in a set of quirky contraptions at Prefab Hall at 10am. Then explore a musical extravaganza in Orchestra of Spheres at Paramount at 10am. A young boy makes a pretty interesting friend that will change his life in The Ballad of Pondlife McGurk at St James Hospitality Suite at11.30am. Finally An Awfully Big Adventure returns as we embark on the story of World War One at Hannah Playhouse at 2.30pm & 6.30pm.
