Fantastic Season Finale at Teretonga

Fantastic Season Finale at Teretonga

The final motor race meeting of the season at Teretonga Park near Invercargill this weekend will be a fitting climax to a great season as the New Zealand Super Truck Championship travels south to fight out Round 3 of their five round championship.

The trucks were last sighted at Teretonga in January 2013 after a long absence prior to that and there is little doubt they are a firm favourite with southerners.

As they head to Teretonga for Round 3 of their five round series it is Andrew Porter of Manukau in his Kenworth leading the way from Malcolm Little of Upper and Troy Wheeler of Papakura in Freightliner Century's. An Australian, Rob Waters, joins the field at this round while Garry Price of Winton will make his truck racing debut in a International Transtar.

A good field of Pre 65 Saloons will back up after racing at Teretonga just one month ago with Wayne Tuffley of Invercargill in a Ford Mustang, John Smolenski of Invercargill in an XP Falcon and Stuart Mitchell of Otautau in a Valiant AP6 amongst a very competitive line up. In the NZ Six Saloons Russell Keeler of Gore will compete in his AU Falcon while the Noel McIntyre Drainage Clubmans Saloons should see the likes of Liam MacDonald of Invercargill in his Falcon, Dunedin drivers Brian Scott (Corvette) and Roy MacDonald (Mustang) Brent Cross of Winton in an EVO to the fore. The A1 Auto Services One Hour Race has attracted a very even field.

The action begins at 9.30am on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will feature testing, qualifying and racing while the cars qualify for the One Hour race on Sunday along with a full programme of racing.

Tickets are available now from Auto Centre and E Hayes & Sons or online at www.teretonga.org.nz

Pre-sale tickets cost $25 for a weekend pass from those outlets while a weekend pass at the gate is $30. Saturday only tickets at the gate are $15 while Sunday tickets are $20. Children 14 and under are free.
