Fast and loose theatre from nothing!

Fast and loose theatre from nothing!

PlayShop is pleased to announce the return of its flagship show, LIVE. PlayShop LIVE is late-night improvised comedy without limits, fast, physical, and unpredictable, and it's performed every Friday night! A team of 4 skilled actors and a musician create spontaneous theatre with nothing but each other, the audience, and their fiendish imaginations.

PlayShop is Wellington’s freshest improv group on the scene, reinvigorating the form with various shows such as Riddiford Street, Game of Things, and This Fair Verona. Recently PlayShop's production of 10 Things I Hate About Us won 'Best Improv' at the New Zealand Fringe Festival Awards.

Theatreview has called PlayShop's shows "side-splittingly funny" and “... an absolutely heartening and enjoyably energetic 60 minutes.” The Wireless has called PlayShop “Hip, Young, Exciting . . . an improv company that insists on wildness and liveliness.” As our weekly show PlayShop LIVE embodies the spirit of the company, every performance feels like a party with the quickest, loveliest, naughtiest actors you’ll meet.

PlayShop LIVE is on every Friday night at BATS Theatre, which has flown home to 1 Kent Terrace. The show will begin at 9.00pm, and will last approximately 50 minutes.

Tickets are $15.00 and can be purchased by emailing book@bats.co.nz, or calling 04 802 4175.

PlayShop LIVE will be performed on Thursday 2nd April before Easter weekend, and will take a break during the NZ International Comedy Festival from 28th April - 16th May.
