Local cafes think pink for May
Every breakfast
you have at a Robert Harris cafe during May could help save
someone’s life.
Breakfast really is the most
important meal of the day!
Over forty Robert Harris cafes throughout the country are getting behind the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation’s (NZBCF) Pink Ribbon Breakfasts.
Customers can head into their local Robert Harris Cafe throughout the month and choose a freshly prepared breakfast item off the menu, knowing that 10% of their breakfast purchase will go to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
Each day 8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and almost all kiwis know someone whose life has been affected by this disease, whether it be friends or family. As many as 650 New Zealanders die of breast cancer every year.
“We are absolutely delighted Robert Harris Cafe owners and customers are on board with us again. It’s this kind of ongoing support that helps us to continue to educate New Zealanders about breast cancer for early detection, support those with the disease and research for better treatment,” said Van Henderson, Chief Executive at the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
Last year the Robert Harris Cafe network raised over $30,000 and this year they are aiming even higher.
Andre Gargiulo, Cerebos Greggs Ltd, Country Manager, says; “This is the second year we have supported the Pink Ribbon Breakfast campaign. We didn’t hesitate to be part of this initiative again because it’s an issue that affects thousands of New Zealand families.”
