Dickey does it Again at 2015 Hutchwilco Boat Show

Napier, New Zealand - With three gold awards at the 2015 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show, Dickey Boats has shone through yet again.

At last weekend’s show, the Napier based builder won; Boat of the Show New Model 2015: Dickey Custom 850, Aluminium Fishing Boat Open 2015: Dickey Custom 850 and All Purpose Open 2015: Dickey Custom 800. These three awards follow the four awards the company scooped at the 2014 show.

Company founder Jason Dickey refers to the boat builder’s unique approach as the Dickey Boat difference.

“Not only in design and construction, but also the level of customisation. In fact, you’d be hard pressed to find any boat that encourages so much input from clients. Most finished boats are stamped with their owners DNA,” says Dickey.

“But these awards aren’t just recognition of the quality of each and every Dickey Boat. They also acknowledge the dedication, skill and hard work of the whole team in Napier. Without them, building boats of this calibre simply wouldn’t be possible.”

Further proof of Dickey Boats superiority can be seen in the brand’s growing popularity in overseas markets. Already making its presence felt in Australia, orders have also been coming in from Europe.

The company is currently in an expansion phase, recruiting new staff and building a new factory to meet market demand. Dickey Boats currently produces around 15 boats a year from 7.5m to 18m in length.
