The spectacular Maori carvings tour is an 8 kilometre round trip that takes about four hours to complete including paddle time as well as time to stop and take in the amazing surroundings. “The trip on Lake Taupo features stunning views of Mt Ruapehu and Mt Ngauruhoe which features as Mt Doom on Lord Of The Rings,” says Mike Pennefather from Canoe and Kayak Taupo.

The river float tour starts right at the beginning of the Waikato River where the water leaves Lake Taupo. Participants make their way down the exquisite river passing under the drop zone for the Taupo Bungy and continue on to the natural hot pools where you can stop for a soak in 40+ degree water.
