Mai NZ Hip Hop and RnB Awards winners announced

New Zealand Hip Hop and RnB artists have been honoured tonight in Mai’s on air ceremony. The coveted Hottest Hip Hop Act was awarded to David Dallas and Stan Walker took home the RnB equivalent.

Katchafire and Stan Walker swept up two awards each and Savage who received Hottest Hip Hop Song was also recognised with the Hottest International Achievement award. Savage has seen recent success in Australia with songs ‘Shots’ and ‘Freaks’ which hit triple platinum.

Mai Content Director and renowned Hip Hop DJ, DJ Sir-Vere says:

‘We need to acknowledge the effort and contribution artists in our genre make towards the Aotearoa music scene. Mai will always support, appreciate and recognise our home grown talent it’s the core of who we are so launching the awards was important.’

The Mai NZ Hip Hop and RnB awards recognise the contribution and excellence New Zealand Hip Hop and RnB artists achieve locally and internationally as voted by the New Zealand public.
