Trialists Named for Silver Ferns & NZA Team

National Selectors have today named 30 players selected to trial for the Silver Ferns and NZA teams. The trials will take place in Auckland from June 29 – July 2 with National Selectors also selecting an NZA team who will travel to Sydney for international fixtures prior to the Netball World Cup (NWC). The Silver Ferns and NZA teams will be named on Thursday 2 July.


The Silver Ferns / NZA trialists are;

Jodi Brown (Netball Central), Gina Crampton (Netball South), Kayla Cullen (Netball Northern), Leana de Bruin (Netball WBOP), Temalisi Fakahokotau (Netball Northern), Shannon Francois (Netball South), Katrina Grant (Netball Central), Ellen Halpenny (Netball WBOP), Gemma Hazeldine (Netball Mainland), Joline Henry (Netball Central), Phoenix Karaka (Netball South), Casey Kopua (Netball WBOP), Laura Langman (Netball Northern), Cathrine Latu (Netball Northern), Brooke Leaver (Netball South), Camilla Lees (Netball Northern), Liana Leota (Netball Central), Nadia Loveday (Netball Northern), Bailey Mes (Netball Northern), Erena Mikaere (Netball WA), Malia Paseka (Netball WBOP), Jamie-Lee Price (Netball WBOP), Storm Purvis (Netball South), Grace Rasmussen (Netball WBOP), Te Paea Selby-Rickit (Netball South), Samantha Sinclair (Netball WBOP), Sulu Tone-Fitzpatrick (Netball Northern), Maria Tutaia (Netball Northern), Ameliaranne Wells (Netball Central) and Maia Wilson (NZSS).

NNZ National Selectors have been watching players closely throughout the 2015 season of the ANZ Championship, the Oceania Netball Series in January, and the recent Trans-Tasman U19 Netball Tournament over the past 12 months of Netball.

Before heading to the NWC in August, the Silver Ferns will host Fiji and South Africa in the New World Netball Series for the Taini Jamison Trophy in July. They will play the Fiji Pearls for a one-off Test Match at Porirua’s Te Rauparaha Arena, followed by a two-Test Series against South Africa’s SPAR Proteas at Claudelands Arena in Hamilton and The Trusts Arena in Auckland.

Tickets to watch the Silver Ferns at home in July as part of the New World Netball Series will be on sale in mid-June.
