Mark it down, comedy fans. The supports for LA late-night comedian Beth Stelling’s New Zealand shows have been confirmed, and they’re golden.
Fresh off the back of the acclaimed run of NZ Comedy Festival’s Dark Side of the Afternoon, Raw Comedy finalist Louise Beuvink will join Stelling for her first show in Auckland, quickly chased the next night by Jerome Chandrahasen as seen on as seen on TV3's Christmas Comedy Cracker with Rhys Darby.
Beth Stelling, whom comedy fans would recognise from Conan, Jimmy Kimmel andThe Pete Holmes show, appears in Auckland and Wellington on the first days of July. Touring Australia and New Zealand after a lengthy US tour supporting Anthony Jesselnik and launching her album at SXSW, Stelling’s diverse CV of writer, actor and expert improviser will see her popularity grow indefinitely.
Beuvink’s notoriously dark and dry style alongside Stelling’s toothache-sweet material will see the two balance to perfection in Auckland. Chandrahasen’s modestly endearing style, switching seamlessly from observational to the absurd, will charm those lucky enough to catch the show in Wellington.
For discerning trainspotters of the American alt-comedy genre and the cream of NZ comedy festival and local circuit, do not miss out on your town’s rare chance to catch Stelling in an intimate theatre setting in the company of two of the country’s finest.
“Beth Stelling is a rising star in the world of stand-up and her razor sharp wit combined with her girl next door aesthetic make for a powerfully funny combination.”— Nerdist
“But the standout to us had to be comedian Beth Stelling. Her stand-up is so accessible and smart, she has no problem getting the men in her audience to crack up over a tilted uterus joke. A+.” — Huffington Post
