Bic Runga’s accomplishments are already enough to label her a national treasure.
Signed at the age of 19, Bic Runga was the first female artist to self pen and self produce three consecutive albums to debut at number one. "Drive" in 1997 (seven times platinum) "Beautiful Collision" in 2002 (eleven times platinum) and "Birds" in 2005 (triple platinum.) Her debut single "Drive" won the prestigious APRA Silver Scroll (New Zealand's equivalent to the Ivor Novello.) Over her 20 year career she has won a dozen "Tui" awards (New Zealand's Grammys.) In 2006 she was made a member of the Order of Merit by The Queen for her contribution to music.

She gained an international audience when her song ‘Sway’ featured in the soundtrack of the 1999 film American Pie and in 2005. She has shared stages with members of Radiohead and Wilco for Neil Finns' "The Sun Came Out" project and made a cameo appearance as a Vietnamese lounge singer in the movie Little Fish with Cate Blanchett and Sam Neill.

It’s now 2015 and Bic Runga has been writing and recording her fifth studio album from her home studio in Auckland. Some of the new material will be debuted live at the Bic Runga Tiny Ruins collaborative concerts this June / July:

The first single to be taken from the album is the song ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ a 70's influenced folk pop tune which continues her striving for classic songwriting and production.

Bic’s new, as yet untitled album is set for release in New Zealand in early 2016.
