New website focused on fundamentals
New website focused on fundamentals
New Zealand Rugby
League has teamed with ACC and BKA-Digital Outfitters to
launch a newlook website that promotes the "Fundamentals
programme for safe and rewarding participation in our
game.
The site went live today and provides a perfect platform for the campaign that has previous existed only on DVD. Now, you can access all you need to know in a mobile-friendly online format.
It will also feature improved delivery of NZRL news on our national teams and competitions, as well as our ground-breaking community programmes and grassroots development through our seven zones around the country.
A new and improved “Fanzone” will provide the latest opportunities to follow our programmes through merchandise, ticketing and sponsor engagement. Check out ticketing details for the upcoming Kiwis tour to England.
“Our existing website has served us faithfully for several years now, but we’re excited by the possibilities available through this upgraded version,” says NZRL communications manager Grant Chapman.
“We’ve made some great strides in the area of player safety over recent times and our Fundamentals concept has been a real driving force behind that.
“This website will help us deliver those messages to our national and international community, and we’re certainly grateful for the support we’ve received from ACC and BKA throughout this project.”
ACC sport injury prevention manager Isaac Carlson says his organisation wants to see more people on the field, enjoying the game they love, and less side-lined by injury.
"The Fundamentals programme is all about
helping coaches and players get the most out of their game,"
he says. "It provides information on key areas, such as
getting in the best physical condition to perform on the
field, through to managing injuries like concussion.
"The new website provides easier access to the Fundamentals programme, meaning we can now reach more of the rugby league community."
The site will also provide a digital home for the player support programme, headed by NZRL wellbeing and education manager Joe Harawira.
Under My Game/Players, you’ll find much of the material he presents to our young players at development camps, as they chase their professional and international dreams.
Eventually, the My Game portal will also enable coaches, match officials, trainers and managers to pay for and complete online courses towards national and international qualifications.
“As with any online development, our new website is very much a work in progress,” says Chapman. “We’ll be continually tweaking and we’re compiling a list of ways to improve our service to the league community.”
