Te Whakawhiti Tikanga ā-Iwi a te Māori me te Wīwī ki te Whakanui i Te Reo Māori

Ka nui te manawarū o Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori kia kite i te whaihua o te kaupapa e kīia nei ko Te Kupu o te Wiki, 2014, me te aha, kua haere ake tētahi ope kōrero Wīwī hei manuhiri māna, mō te kupu whakamutunga o te wiki, arā, te kupu ‘Wīwī’.
Ka noho tēnei whakakotahitanga hei whakamutu ake i ngā mahi hāpai i te 50 kupu i roto i te 50 wiki, te kati ake i te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2014, me te noho takatū ki Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2015, ka tīmata nei at te 27 o Hōngongoi 2015.
Ka whakakotahi ētahi mema o te hapori kōrero Wīwī o Te Whanga-nui-a-Tara, ngā kaimahi o Te Kāinga Māngai Kāwanatanga o Wīwī me Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori, ki te whakawhiti tikanga ā-iwi ā te Rāmere e tū mai nei, ki te whakanui i te kupu Wīwī me te whakaroaro anō ki ngā mahi whakarauora reo.
Ko tā te whakamutu ake i te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2014, he tohu anō i te tīmatanga o te kaupapa mō te 2015, Te Rerenga Kōrero o te Wiki, e hāpaingia ai ētahi kīanga e 50 i roto i te 50 wiki.

Māori-French Cultural Exchange to Celebrate Te Reo Māori

Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori The Māori Language Commission is thrilled to recognise the successful Te Kupu o te Wiki, Māori Word of the Week campaign 2014 by hosting a delegation of French speakers for the final word of the week ‘Wīwī’ – French.
This will bring to an end an enormously successful campaign of 50 te reo Māori words over 50 weeks and in turn end Māori Language Week 2014 in preparation for Māori Language Week 2015 which begins 27 July2015.
Members of the Wellington French
speaking community, staff from the French Embassy and Te
Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori, The Māori Language Commission,
will meet for a cultural exchange this Friday to celebrate
the use of the word Wīwī and to reflect on language
revitalisation matters.
The conclusion of the 2014 Māori
Language Week campaign heralds the beginning of the 2015
campaign Te Rerenga Kōrero o te Wiki, The phrase of the
Week where 50 phrases will be shared over 50 weeks.
