French Animation Professionals to participate in AnimFX

French animation professionals Véronique Encrenaz (Annecy Animation Film Market) and Michel Nicolas (CEO of French production company Folimage) will be in New Zealand in early November to meet with local animation experts and to participate in AnimFX, the annual Animation, VFX and Games conference held in Wellington.

From the 4th to the 5th of November Michel and Véronique will hold meetings with animation experts in Auckland. From the 5th to the 7th of November Michel and Véronique will participate in AnimFX.

Véronique will give a short presentation about the exciting times French animation cinema is experiencing. Michel will then explore Folimage’s story during a keynote lecture and discuss what has contributed to the success of Folimage through their signature feature films. Michel will speak about his current projects in production, including new transmedia initiatives.

AnimFX will also feature the exclusive New Zealand Phantom Boy premiere on Thursday 5 November. Phantom Boy is a 2D 2015 animated French film by Folimage production, directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmakers Jean-Loup Felicioli and Alain Gagnol, and produced by Folimage (See trailer here). Phantom Boy premiered at the last Toronto Film Festival to critical acclaim.
