National Poetry Slam Finals!
New Zealand Poetry Slam presents the National Poetry Slam Finals! Who will be the next champion? The moment is here! The best poets from Aotearoa converge on Hamilton this Saturday night to battle it out to be crowned New Zealand National Slam Champion with nothing but their words, their passion, and a microphone!
Poets representing Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Bay of Plenty, Nelson, and Christchurch will have three rounds to read their own original work and win over the crowd! Judges are selected randomly from the audience: you could determine who the next New Zealand Champion is.
These poets have been working for six months to win a spot in the Finals, beating out scores of poets from their local communities. They will bring their stories and passion: you bring the noise! Don’t miss out on THE literary event of the year!
Featuring special performances by international guest Carrie Rudzinski, 2013 National Slam Runner Up Michael Moore, and more! Hosted by US Slam Champion Ken Arkind and local MC Harmz!
The only national adult poetry competition in the country, New Zealand Poetry Slam brings together poets, audience members, and a chance to be crowned New Zealand National Slam Champion.
