Corporate Challenge offers unique team building experience

Coast to Coast Corporate Challenge offers unique team building experience

9 November 2015

Organisers of the iconic Coast to Coast multi-sport event are convinced a team that sweats together also works best together, saying the event’s Corporate Team Challenge provides a unique team building experience for businesses.

“It’s also a chance to win the ultimate bragging rights of the best corporate multi sporting company in New Zealand,” Coast to Coast Event Director Richard Ussher said.

Coast to Coast owners Trojan Holdings have issued a challenge to a number of business’s to enter the Corporate Challenge and were looking forward to members of their own team getting involved in the event as competitors and support crew.

He stressed the corporate teams challenge was very achievable as it involved a three person team, with each participant doing one element of the two day event, either running, cycling or kayaking, and was certain there were real benefits for company’s getting involved regarding team dynamics and bonding opportunities.

“Teams will have to set goals, plan logistics, spend time training and then racing together and there’s also the opportunity to involve other staff, family and friends as part of the support crew; it’s a fantastic opportunity to invest in a company’s culture, have some fun and support a really good cause.”

Two of the team members must be employed and working for the same company, but Ussher said that did leave room to have an experienced third team member from outside the business.

“The Corporate Teams Challenge offers a great way to knock the event off your bucket list and you get the satisfaction of challenging other business colleagues and clients and then beating them on the day and winning the Corporate Team Challenge trophy that will look great in a company’s reception,” he said.

Organisers also plan to support St John’s as a charity element in the corporate section. Ussher said that St John medics have been an invaluable part of the event for over 20 years, forming part of a wider safety team which includes the mountain and river teams, so it was a good opportunity to support the organisation’s efforts.
