Sharp British Comedian Makes New Zealand Debut at Wellington Fringe Festival 2016

British comedian Sameena Zehra is coming to New Zealand for the first time with her internationally acclaimed show Homicidal Pacifist.

As a self-confessed ‘inherent fringe-nomad’, Zehra has heard great things about Wellington Fringe and its audiences, whom she believes will connect with her disparate, thought-provoking comedy whilst she gets to live out her childhood dream of travelling to New Zealand.

“[I’m] looking forward to seeing how the people of Wellington and I get along. I anticipate we will enjoy each other’s company,” says Zehra.

Homicidal Pacifist leaves a trail of rave reviews behind it, including five star reviews from The Latest, Brighton and Adelaide Fringe Review claiming you should “Stick a rocket up your Jacksie if you miss this one”.

Sameena has performed Homicidal Pacifist at Edinburgh, Perth and Adelaide Fringes, and Melbourne International Comedy Festival to a rapturous response.

With roots as a blue singer/songwriter, a background in acting at the National Theatre and touring with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and four years of performing stand-up comedy, Zehra certainly knows how to captivate an audience. Homicidal Pacifist whips up a hilariously dark melange of on-point politics, religion, sex and everything you have been thinking about but have been waiting for someone else to say.
