Auckland City Limits Reveals What’s on the Menu

There is plenty more than music on the menu at Auckland City Limits on 19 March.

The festival has five of Auckland’s top restaurants serving ‘hand-held” portions and variations on their menu favourites in the Auckland Eats area. In addition, a host of regular festival food classics will be spread across the site including Best Ugly Bagels, Taco Loco, Brooklyn Dogs, One Love and the timeless White Lady.

Woodpecker Hill chef Che Barrington, the main man behind Auckland Eats, is bringing a variation of his famous BBQ pork buns and a 14 hour smoked beef brisket salad with green papaya, peanuts, chilli and lime.

Other mouthwatering offerings include Mexico’s Taco “Al Pastor” pork shoulder achiote, Cazador’s Goat Burger with labneh, pickles, and salad; the Chicken Hoagie with chicken skin cracklin’ and gravy by the Federal Delicatessen and Beirut’s Ash Fried Squid.


BEIRUT

Manoush - lebanese flatbread with lamb, tomato, red pepper, olive powder, pickled chilli, za’atar egg $8

Ash fried squid - cucumber, blackened radish, Ras el hanout spiced Egyptian potatoes, yoghurt, celery water $10

Slow braised Goat - fenugreek leaf, smoked rice, fattoush salad, whipped garlic, citrus stained onion $12

CAZADOR

Duck Dog - duck and fennel sausage, hazelnuts, pickled red cabbage and tarragon mayo in a brioche bun. $8

Goat Burger - charred goat patty, house made labneh, zucchini pickles, heritage tomato and iceberg lettuce on a sesame bun. $10

Smoked fries - smoked potato and burnt onion aioli. $6

Street Dog – NYC-style hot dog with cart relish $6

White corn tostada - blackened esquites, fig leaf ricotta, queso seco, heirloom tomato, black dehydrated ant eggs, baby sorrel $10

Huaraches - corn maize, beef mole negro, stained onions, frijoles, queso fresco, torched chilli, nasturtium $12

The BBQ pork bun - smoked pulled suckling pig, smoked char sui sauce, cucumber mustard pickles (x 2) $10

The Beef short rib bun - coconut braised short rib, coriander salsa verdé, salted jalapeños (x 2) $10

14 hour smoked beef brisket salad - with green papaya, peanuts, chilli, lime $8

The Action Bronson – chocolate mousse, lemon curd, coco pop crumb, pretzel praline , whipped cream, candied bacon floss, potato chips, peanut popcorn crunch and caramel $8
