James Malcolm: Marry Me Chris Warner

Media Release – For Immediate Release
YOU ARE INVITED TO SHORTLAND STREET’S FIRST GAY WEDDING
JAMES MALCOLM
MARRY ME CHRIS WARNER

2016 Billy T Award nominee James Malcolm is publicly confessing his love for Chris Warner this May as part of the 2016 NZ International Comedy Festival powered by Flick Electric Co.

James has admired Chris Warner since the day he first laid eyes on him on Shortland Street in the middle of a Triple bypass, he touched his heart.

Now he’s seizing the opportunity to stage an elaborate wedding for himself and ‘Doctor Love’, with minor details (like the fact they’ve never met) just that – minor!

James will bare all on stage, with personal stories of his life and relationship with ‘Doctor Love’.

There’ll be epic romance and epic heartbreak that even Warner can’t fix (sorry Rachel McKenna); but will James be stood up at the altar?

As seen on TV3’s AotearoHA Rising Stars, James Malcolm was the winner of the 2014 national Raw Comedy Quest, up against the infamous infomercial queen Suzanne Paul.

He was also a part of the New Zealand Comedy Trust’s Class Comedians high school programme in 2013.

James Malcom is making an impact early, at only 20 years--old, he’s already been nominated for NZ’s most prestigious comedy award.

He grew up in Lower Hutt, where he was inspired to form his major goal in life… to become famous enough to make it onto Wellington High School’s ‘Wall of Fame’, as he doesn’t recognise anyone who’s up there currently.

As a side note, he has a slightly unhealthy obsession with Miley Cyrus.

“He bonded with the audience beautifully, opening up completely to them before throwing in a punchline that knocked the crowd… well… “out of their socks” seems fitting."
– Shout Out Magazine

“Great confidence on stage delivering his fearless and clever material, he was a hit."
– Keeping Up With NZ
