Red Leap Unleash Their theatrical Magic This Winter

Dust Off Your Imagination as Red Leap Unleash Their theatrical Magic This Winter!

Red Leap Theatre presents the three centre tour of
DUST PILGRIM – A Tale of Freedom
Devised by Red Leap Theatre | Directed by Julie Nolan and Kate Parker

From the award-winning team that brought you The Arrival and Paper Sky comes the return tour of the highly imaginative work by Red Leap Theatre; Dust Pilgrim – A Tale of Freedom. Following its Auckland premiere in 2015 the redeveloped work is primed for a three centre North island tour to Hamilton, New Plymouth and Wellington in June and July, 2016.

“…Red Leap Theatre could perform imaginative feats that are faster than a locomotive and leap tall buildings in a single bound...” Theatreview

Panuelo is trapped in a life built on dust and shifting sands, held tight in the fist of her tyrannical mother. On uncovering the restless bones of a secret long buried, Panuelo makes a daring bid for freedom and runs out into the vast desert, encountering a world of tricksters, prophets, boundaries and borders... But things are never as they seem.

After the grandeur of The Arrival and touring life that has catapulted them onto the international stage, co-artistic Directors Kate Parker and Julie Nolan have gone back to their roots and created an intimate yet epic touring work to play to their fiercely loyal New Zealand audiences. Through a vigorous collaboration, Red Leap Theatre has created an intriguing landscape - a little darker, sparser and more abstract. Embracing their innovative trademark style and inspired by the possibilities of magic realism, this highly physical performance is certain to capture the imagination and hearts of audience’s.
