Blog Your Way Abroad with IVHQ
International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ) is empowering aspiring writers with a passion for travel and volunteering through a Travel Blogger Scholarship. The recipient will gain a sponsored international volunteer trip to one of 35 countries, where they will be sharing tips and insights to serve as a valuable resource for future volunteer travelers.
At IVHQ, we believe that travelers should be empowered to make meaningful contributions to the communities they are visiting and we take pride in making this happen. The blogger scholarship is an extension of that, shining a light on those impactful experiences - the stories, connections and empowering personal journeys - that come through travel and volunteering.
Entrants are invited to write a blog post from a selection of themes, so whether you are a first-time traveler or expert volunteer, this opportunity is open to anyone with a passion for meaningful travel. It is all about writing finesse, originality, eye for detail and value as a resource for future travelers and volunteers.
A selection of scholarship submissions will be shortlisted and published on International Volunteer HQ's website. A group of industry-leading travel writers will then select a winning submission based on criteria which can be found on the IVHQ website.
The recipient of the scholarship will have the opportunity to experience and contribute to an IVHQ volunteer program for two weeks in the destination of their choice. They will also be awarded with a US$1500 travel voucher from the team at StudentUniverse, and an Advanced Travel Writing certification from Matador U Travel Media School (US$475).
The scholarship entry period closes at 11:59pm on Sunday the 28th of August, 2016 (PST).
